FAQ's
1. How long is your program?
We are a minimum six month facility. We will comply with any and all court orders. We have had residents court ordered here up to 24 months. We will also follow any stipulations set by the court such as passes and phone calls.
2. How long can I stay there?
We are a minimum six month program, however residents are given the opportunity to stay on here for as long as they like as long as they are following the rules and working a program. Residents can stay longer for $50 a week.
3. How much does it cost and what does that cover?
The program dues and fess are $125.00 a week. This does not cover your food, drug tests or transportation. We have a donate closet with food in it. First Baptist Church of Jacksonville donates 10 boxes of Angel Food per month. Drug test are $20.00 each. Transportation is $6.00 round trip for local drives. We do have an admission fee of $250.00 to enter the program.
4. What can I bring?
10 outfits tops and bottoms. (Follow proper dress code guidelines) Example: No clothing that advertises anything other than Blank, name brand or a Team logo. No bar t shirts, no tanks or mid drift tops, no tees SAYING anything ex: Your boyfriend thinks I'm cute. No tees supporting any political cause or opinion ex: Legalize Pot, etc. Best rule of thumb is to bring clothing you can wear to church as we are involved with our church alot.
You can also bring: All health and beauty aids, no alcohol based mouth wash, blow dryer, curling iron, makeup, perfume, etc. Toilet paper is not provided. Tampons are not allowed pads only. 4 pairs of shoes. 2 coats any recovery related material. No novels. If you have a plastic container (3 drawer or one that slides under a twin bed would be helpful in storing your things. ) You can bring a personal cd player with headphones.
You may also want to bring quarters for vending machine. A calling card for payphones. Any food you want to bring, remember limited storage.
We provide bedding but you will need towels and washclothes. You will also need liquid laundry soap.
5. Do you provide food?
No, but there is a donate closet of food until you are employed or get foodstamps.
6. Do I need my driver's liscense?
You are not required to have a Dl. But you are required to have a state issued ID for employment along with a social security card.
7. Can I bring my car?
Yes, you can but it will be parked and not driven. All keys will be locked up. This is a privilege and requires trust. This is something you can earn here.
8. How many beds do you have?
37, we normally do not have any waiting.
9. What kind of jobs do the girls work?
Fast food usually within about a 15 mile radius of the house.
10. Can I work any kind of job?
No, you cannot work any place that sells alcohol. The hours you can work are 6 am to 6 pm. You cannot work for your buddy in Jacksonville.
11. Can I have a cell phone?
No. After you complete the program and if you decide to stay then you can have a cell phone.
12. How long until I can go on pass or have a visit?
Visitors are not allowed. Passes are earned. You must be here 30 days be in compliance with the house, up to date on all book work. The first month cost $750.00 including the admission fee. You must be paid up to date to be eligible for pass. Passes are allowed with immediate family only, ex: mom, dad, sister, brother, leagal husband, or your children.
13. When can I use the phone?
After your probation period of two weeks and you are in compliance you may use the phone.
14. Can my family come there to see me?
No. You cannot have visitors here, work or church. If you get someone to come to your work, church or here to see you, you will be terminated from our program.
15. What medications are allowed? Ok, this question is tricky. No narcotics. No meds that make you sleepy. Tylenol, Ibuprophen, Aleve are approved over the counter meds. No PM's. Please contact us with any medication questions you may have. We are a drug free program. This means minimal meds are allowed. This also means if it is a drug that would make you test positive on a 12 panel drug test, it will not be allowed. Please call with questions as some over the counter meds are not allowed due to this issue. All meds must be approved prior to entry. No antipsychotics.
16. Is the program religion based? We are spiritually based on the 12 Steps of AA and NA. We also are very involved with the church and their 12 step recovery program, Celebrate Recovery. We also attend a baptist church. The women do 2 different sets of steps. One A.A. based one based on the beattitudes thru the church.
17. Do you take people on disability. Yes, but keep in mind we are a work program. Which means, if you are not employed you still are required to perform 25 hours of community service per week. Also applicants that are disabled are required to pay the same amount as others. Please get any and all meds approved prior to entry.
18. If I am in jail how will I get there? Well, if you are court ordered, we will pick you up. We need at least a two day notice.
19. Do you have to be court ordered to enter your program? No, about 30% of our annual residents are not court ordered.
20. If I am not court ordered and need help, will you provide transportation? Yes, we will either purchase a bus ticket and pick you up from the bus station or we will drive to get you.
21. What if I have nothing? All you NEED is a desire to change your life. We are set up to provide for your immediate needs: food, clothing, shelter, personal hygiene.
22. When can I have a visit or do we get passes? The 1st month here is a probation phase. After 2 weeks you can use the phone (payphone) after 30 days you will be allowed passes, if you are up to date with step work, you are employed, you are current on your dues and fees and you are in compliance with house rules. This is provided you are allowed passes thru the court system, if court ordered.
23. How long is the program?
We are a minimum of 6 months. That is the shortest time, you can stay here longer or it may take you longer to complete.
24. Why?
Well, we are a work program. We will take people with or without money. If we take someone with no money, once they are employed we will take 75% of their pay until they are caught up on dues and fees, this can make your stay longer depending on how long it takes to get caught up.
25. What is the cost?
We have an admission fee, non refundable, of $250. The program cost $125 per week. This does not include transportation and drug test
